There is a reason aluminum welds crack, leak and fail — and it almost always comes down to one thing. The wrong filler wire on the wrong alloy. Most shops reach for 4043 every time regardless of the application. We know when that is right and we know the four other wires that outperform it when it isn't.
We call it the 4043 Trap. And we have built an entire page around explaining it — because an educated customer gets a better repair.
If you have aluminum that needs welding or a repair that has already failed once — read this first.
Most Welding Shops Use the Same Wire on Every Aluminum Job. We Don't.
